Leonard Peters (1999) is a documentary filmmaker, interdisciplinary artist, editor, producer and musician based in Amsterdam and Berlin.


Leonard began his career as an actor and has a strong passion for piano and opera singing. Interested in the relationship between humans and nature, he explores themes of decay and the poetry of everyday life. His practice consists of films, mixed-media performances, and musical compositions. Through his production company Studio Lennu, he directs, edits, and writes documentary, essay, and hybrid film works.

Leonard graduated from the MFA in Film at HDK-Valand (University of Gothenburg) in Sweden, and he is currently completing a second MFA in Editing at Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF in Potsdam, Germany. He also holds a BA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Zuyd University in Maastricht, The Netherlands. 

At VPRO public broadcasting in the Netherlands, Leonard creates podcasts for the experimental mini-series Ergens, produces documentary interviews for NPO DocTalks, and conducts visual research and editing for the live political news programme Buitenhof.
